Fire Fighting Systems
Fire extinguishing installations with water means all the devices and systems that are installed in a new or existing building or space, in order to ensure the prescribed extinguishing means according to the applicable provisions. The extinguishing agent used is either water or an aqueous solution of various substances.
A typical installation of a permanent water supply fire network includes the following:
• A reservoir or source of water
• Fire pumps (if required)
• Automation table (for pumps)
• Pressure regulator (where required)
• Piping of suitable diameters to supply the required amount of water and pressure to the fire hydrant connections
• Fire hydrants/sprinklers of various types (sprinklers).
The fire extinguishing installation is independent from any other water supply installation and it is forbidden to connect the pipes of the fire extinguishing installation to any other.
The study, design, and installation of automatic fire extinguishing systems with water is determined by the ELOT EN 12845 standard, as applicable each time.
